I love writing. I loved writing in high school and college. I used to have a family blog way back when Blogspot was huge. Then I had more kids, life got busier, I began spending more time on other social medias and I kind of forgot about my blog. Recently I’ve been looking for creative ways to share my life. I wanted a place to support other families, and maybe share some funny or inspiration stories about our family.
What can you expect on this blog? Well, I’m sure we will evolve together, but here in no particular order are things that are important to me. First is my family. There will be stories of my kids. There will be stories about how I responded to things my kids did or said. I do my best to keep everything family friendly, but also be aware that in our house no topic is off limits and I will probably share some of that. If you don’t want your kids reading about conversations I’m having with my kids concerning sex, masturbation, what is a condom, and how we handled being asked what an orgasm is, well, then don’t let them read over your shoulder.
I believe in strengthening families. I know families look all kinds of different, but strong families equal strong children and a stronger world. I’m in support of involved parents who let their kids learn and grow and face consequences for their own action. I’m more of a free range parent, but we’ve also done attachment parenting and co-sleeping. It’s possible to do both.
Parenting. I mean it kind of goes hand in hand with telling stories about my kids, but I will share parenting tips and most likely mishaps as well. This thing called parenting is hard. The things that work when my kids are 5 and 6 aren’t always as effect when they hit 15 and 16.
Recipes and cooking. Lets face it, you can’t run a home with this many kids without spending some time in the kitchen. We have our favorites. We have large batch cooking. I teach the kids to help in the kitchen from an early age. I’ve found some appliances I love, and there have been a few that I’ve tried, liked, and then forgotten. I’ll share that too.
Finally, (maybe), I will share my thoughts as a woman, wife, and mom. Sometimes I just need to word vomit. Maybe some of you can relate, or maybe you are curious about how this not a country girl is coping being in the country.
I hope you enjoy the journey with me.
